Huang Ping, Director-General of the Institute of European Studies Meets with Delegation of Institute of International Politics and Economics Serbia



On December 15, 2015, Professor Huang Ping, Director-General of the Institute of European Studies, met with the Delegation of Institute of International Politics and Economics, Serbia led by Branislav Djordjevic, Director of the International Politics and Economics, Serbia.


The delegation expressed their appreciation on the invitation to attend the Symposium from Director-General Huang Ping and considered the China-CEEC Think Tanks Network as a great framework of cooperation. The Institute of International Politics and Economics expressed their support of the China-CEEC Think Tanks Network and the “Belt and Road” Initiative. 


Director-General Huang Ping pointed out that the establishment of China-CEEC Think Tanks Network was proposed by China’s Premier Li Keqiang, which is a part of the 16+1 Cooperation.


Director Djordjevic proposed 3 points to promote more practical cooperation between the two sides:

1.To establish a Think Tank Network among the 17 countries, specialized in study the “Belt and Road” Initiative.

2.The Institute of International Politics and Economics proposes to host the Fourth High-Level Symposium of Think Tanks of China and Central and Eastern European Countries.

3.China and Serbia may jointly hold a conference in June 2016 to discuss these possibilities above.


Director-General Huang Ping suggested all partners may jointly discuss those issues, and propose suggestions and thoughts to the authorities. Feasibility study is essential. The China-CEEC Think Tanks Network will fully study those proposals above and to implement it when it is the right time.
